During the holidays, you don't have time to decorate a gorgeous home, whip up a holiday feast, and create a crafty cocktail – do you? With the right vodka mixers, you can have all the festive fun while looking like you've done it all!
The trick to finding the best vodka mixers during the holidays is finding flavors that go well with any number of tipsy treats.
Grab the Best Vodka Mixers
For instance, cranberry juice is a classic vodka mixer for a reason. Not only do the tart notes perk up your taste buds in between all those rich holiday treats, but also it goes beautifully with traditional holiday flavors.
Of course, after rockin' around the Christmas tree and wrapping and unwrapping presents, you may need a boost of energy. Keep a couple cans of Red Bull on hand to use as a vodka mixer for any fruit-inspired drink. Red Bull's ambiguous fruit flavor pairs well with several classic cocktails while giving you a bit of pep in your step.
Another winner is ginger beer. Ginger beer gives a refreshing bubbly quality to any mixed drink without overwhelming other flavors. As an added bonus, it ties in perfectly with some of our favorite holiday cocktails.
Let's dive in!
Get Cocktail Crafty
While these are some of our favorite holiday vodka cocktails, we encourage you to use these as inspiration to create your own! After all, one of the best gifts you can give your family is a custom cocktail that becomes a holiday tradition.
New Year's Adult Cider
At midnight, you'll likely be toasting the New Year with a glass of champagne while pouring sparkling apple cider for the kiddos. But you'll also need something refreshing to carry you through to the big countdown.
This fun, festive cocktail turns the kid-friendly stuff into a delicious vodka mixer, with the help of a few other spritely ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1.5 ounces Equality Vodka
- 1 ounce sparkling apple cider
- 1 ounce ginger beer
- A squeeze of lemon
Whip It Up
In a shaker, combine your vodka, apple cider, ginger beer, and lemon juice. Stir quickly and pour into a highball glass over ice. Add a slice of apple or pear (yes, pear!) to garnish.
Cranberry Moscow Mule
How could we say "No" to combining two of our favorite vodka mixers? The bubbly effervescence of ginger beer plus the crisp tartness of cranberry juice make this a cocktail you'll want to share at every party.
Thankfully, this recipe makes a tall drink, so you'll have plenty of merriment to last all celebration long.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces Equality Vodka
- 2 ounces cranberry juice
- 4 ounces ginger beer
- Juice from half of a lime
- Three cranberries, washed and skewered
Whip It Up
Pour your vodka, cranberry juice, and lime into a shaker over ice. Shake gently so as not to agitate the carbonated ingredients to the point of explosion. Strain your drink into a tall cocktail glass or a tumbler and garnish with a skewer of cranberries.
A Pitcher of Plenty for the Party
This holiday berry-inspired cocktail is so delicious, you might as well make a pitcher and pass it around the party. Make it the night before or right when your guests arrive.
Then mix, mingle, and enjoy (responsibly).
Ingredients
- 1 cup of Equality Vodka
- 1/2 cup Creme de Cassis (black currant liqueur; we like this one)
- 1/2 cup cranberry juice
- 1/2 cup club soda
Whip It Up
If you're preparing this festive treat the night before the party, save the club soda until serving time. Otherwise, combine all four ingredients in a pitcher half-filled with ice.
Pour into individual glasses with a few ice cubes. Add a skewer of cranberries to garnish.
Yuletide Sunshine
Citrus flavors in winter remind us of the seasons to come and bring some much-needed sunshine to the shorter days. This spunky cocktail does all of the above and more while making use of one of the best vodka mixers of all time: Red Bull.
Ingredients
- 1.5 ounces Equality Vodka
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 1 ounce Red Bull
Whip It Up
Add your vodka and orange juice to a glass with ice. Pour the Red Bull over top. Garnish with a twist of lemon or a slice of orange.
